Dear, dear friends/rockdoctors/bestmusiciansofthewholeworld
The show in Rotterdam.....took my breath away.......never heard you perform the Mindfields songs, and they were really great to hear live. As well as all the songs you performed!!! Steve, you're a guitargod, and you really made me laugh my longues out a couple of times, especially when you forgot the lyrics. Bobby: You know i love ya haha, what a voice, even with a cold....guys........it was so amazing to meet you after the show, you signed my shirt, remember? I am NOT EVER gonna wash that shirt in my whole life. I felt very sorry to have not been able to meet Steve backstage, in Hardenberg you signed my boyfriend's musicman Luke, maybe you remember that? What a privilege to have met you guys, really.
Tony: What a great voice!!!!
Please come back very very soon, i can't wait to have such an experience as i had thursday in Rotterdam.... i was dancing and singing the whole night, and as soon as i got in my car for the three hour drive back home, Falling In Between was in my cd player again. Great album, with great songs. Never stop making music, we love you. Bye bye, Nora

Hello,
my englisch is not the best, but I want to say that what I saw and heard at this concert was really AMAZING
I am a young girl, 18 years old, and I always loved good guitar music. But my father have seen you three times by now, he really likes your music!!! He wants to convince me that you have a really high quality, and what a great muzicians you are. He said to me: If they come to Holland again, I'll take you with me. And Steve told the audiance in the concert he loves to see how much young people there are, told by their parents or uncle Bob. It's the same story here with me. I already know you, but my father took me to the concert with him and he was totally right. YOU ARE GREAT! IT WAS AMAZING

I will never forget this concert.

Jelske van Leeuwen
Hello musicans ...and you´re really musicans, not any kind of rockstars, Luke talked about at the concert. In my opion rockstars are fancy-dans on televison like MTV... in fact TOTO are musicans !!

I´m a Toto-fan since 1987 and this night in Rotterdam was my favorite concert I have ever heard. Thank you very very much for this awesome and unbelievabel show.

Bobby makes a fantastic job (!), especially at the end at the song Girl Goodbye (...or Hold the Line). Bobby, you´re a really great musican ! Your vocal stuff is amazing and excellent!

Also the Solo of Luke and Simon were pretty good...no, let me say in other words: What you made last night is like as an orgasm of emotion!!

Luke: Carlos(Santana) and Jimmy(Hendrix) are wisecrackers against your fantastic gig, that´s it. Maybe you must teach them again. ;-))

Mike, in my opion you´re the godfather of soul, no better: you´re name muster be SOUL-Godfather! Incredible what you´re making with your instrument!

Greg, you´re playing keybord as well as David...also greetings to Paich: I´m understanding that you´re in the support-team of your sister (!), hope to see you next times.

And Tony, what could I say: You´re a very important member of this spectacular group (!), thank you very very much as well!

Greetings from Germany and god bless you !!
Hope to see you much more times ...so, don´t give up guys...maybe TOTO means: TO early TO give up!!

The 9th of March I will remember forever as a very special day!
It was my third Toto gig and again a super performance of the best rock/jazz/pop musicians in the world. Yesterday I realised again what a gifted musicians they all are, Simon with a super performance on his drumkit and drumming with one hand on the acoustic set...Greg's very nice solo on keyboard...Steve playing and making fun with the audience, Mike blowing me away with his bass...
It feels like a warm family on stage, a band of brothers who really like to enjoy their fans!!
Their pleasure and fun on the stage feels like a warm shower raining down on us, the audience...
Toto, you've made my day, I can't wait to see and hear you guys again and I hope you will record a new Live DVD in Amsterdam, I'll be there!!!!!!
Steve, Dave, Simon, Greg, Mike, Bobby and Tony, you guys are the best!!! Thanx again!

Mike Porcaro

Hey guys... Yesterday I saw the most greatest concert I have ever seen. I was so lucky to stand so close to the stage near Steve Lukather. What are those guys great live, even the little lyrics mistake of Steve was very enjoyable and we sung together the rest of the song! I am so glad that u guys feel home here in our country. I'm 17 years old (tomorrow 18) and I play guitar since my 7th and Steve lukather has become my Guitar "father", his work just inspires me on my own solos/song.. And The eyecontact with my best teacher (lukather) on the end of the performance was so great!
But guys the rest of the band is also very good.. The whole sound of the band, men it tikkles me again. And Congratulations for Simon and for david paich (also my idol on my other instrument) I hope your sister recovers very soon.
I look forward to the next concert here in holland and I will definitely be there and again very close to the stage of course.

WHAT A CONCERT MEN OO MEN!

This was a great concert! Absolutely fantastic. I saw Toto live for the 6th or 7th time and I really think this was their best! I loved the unplugged version and the new Rosanna sound.
Exactly 18 years and 1 week earlier (on March 2, 1988), during to 'I won't hold you back', the guy who is now my husband, gave me his very first kiss. So, it was very special to us to be there and Steve singing 'our' song.
It was great to hear some songs which I have never heard live before and the songs from the new album sound really great.
I hope they will be back later this year, so we can have another great night!!!

Now that I'm alone it gives me time
And when I close my eyes
I know that I must do what's right
I can't fool myself any longer
There's only one thing left for me to do
I suggest you listen up to what I have to say

Anticipating (waiting for the show to begin)
Side by side (the whole Ahoy was packed)
Darkness that surrounds me (the lights go out)
Reflections in my mind, thoughts I can't define (it’s impossible to describe the Toto-feeling)
It never sounded quite like this before (the curtain falls, and the music starts)
You might call me crazy
It leaves only truth here to find
It's not in the way you look or the things that you say that you'll do (there’s nothing left for you to prove)
You are the kings of the world
You just reach out your hand (forgot your lyrics)
Meet you all the way (we’ll help you out)
Now look what you've done to me (we’ll have to wait for the next gig here in Holland)
So much pain in long goodbyes
From the top of your heart to the bottom of your soul
Goodbye for now

Yesterday I went to THE best concert of all times! This was my third TOTO concert, but every time they just get better and better!
What a show! Amazing! I loved the mix of old and new songs. Today at my work I almost coud'tn speak because of the creaming I did yesterday ;-) The accoustic part in the middle of the concert was fantastic. Al the new songs from the new album were fantastic too! Especially King of the world! I feel sad that David wasn't able to sing the great song "Spiritual Man". I whis him all the best and hope to see him soon on the stage!

Steve said to be suprised that the fans are just getting younger and younger. I'm 21. The first time I saw TOTO live was at the Night of the Proms 2003. Of course I've heard Africa and Rossana before, but I didn't know TOTO verry well. After their performance I could only say one thing: Oh my god!

From that moment one it was clear...buying cd after cd...listen TOTO in the car...in the train...everywhere! July 2005 I went to Zuidbroek Groningen to see them...that was great!

Yesterday I woke up with a big smile on my face! Today is the day!

Steve..the answer to the question why you still get so many new fans: Once you've get in touch with TOTO you fell in love!

I was at the concert with my friend, who is 23..yesterday whe were togehter for 13 months..when he met me I could't connvince him that TOTO is the best! Yesterday it was clear. You hit him from the top of his hart to the bottom of your soul. He even wrote his one concert review :-)

Thank you verry much for all the amazing music you make! I hope you loved the show as much ass all the dutch fans did! I hope to see you soon!

ps.Steve-You're the best! where should you be without us singing the words for you;-)
Bobby-You're amazing! What a voice!
Tony- I'm a big fan! Great to hear you sing "Stop loving you"
Mike-You're great!
Simon-Gongratulations! Greg-It's great to have you!

x

As I'd expected: a great show!

The songs are good, but especially the way of playing those songs live and the quality of the band, is what's so exciting to me.

The band: very high quality (as I already mentioned), great dedication, entertainment, much fun too.

Luke, "the desire of the nations", fucking great guitar player and personality. To me highlight of the show: Steve's solo during Kingdom of Desire.

Is there any better drummer in this world than Simon Philips? I don't know him... Mike Porcaro: dedication to every tone, great to watch that.

Although Greg is a great substitute, it's a pity that David Paich wasn't there, but understandable of course. All the best to him and his sister.

See you next time, Toto!

Saw the band 7 times but this concert was in one word "fantastic". I bought straight away a ticket for the concert in Brussel to see the concert for a second time.

I have gone since 1990 to the concerts of Toto and I astonish me always that every concert is better. This concert also. Incredible super well. They ongoing to surprise me With their music.
Also the new album Falling in Between is overwhelming. To me the best album what they property made. God has touched this music. Guys keep up the good and come rapidly to The Netherlands. We cannot without TOTO. Hold the line.
God bless all of you

Bobby Kimball

Having all concerts on DVD, been to almost every concert in Holland I only can say that this was the best concert I've ever heard from Toto.

The voices are great.. Tony and Greg did a good backup job there. Surprised with the new versions of several songs.. and Toto unplugged.

Most important the attitude of the bandmembers. They don't have any... They're real musicians. No popstars as Luke mentioned.

Hope there will be a DVD of this tour...

Keep on rocking

The show was in one word fantastic , the sound of the group was refrehing and that after 29 years! Each song (old and new) was great, it was two hours rock`n`roll (and a little jazz).
We must be proud that TOTO are making all these beautiful songs for us, hope to see you soon!

Yesterday I was at the concert in Rotterdam. Yesterday also was the day me and my girlfriend were together for 13 months. I got into touch with Toto through her. She is a BIG (as in the biggest) Toto fan since their performance at the Night Of The Proms a couple of years ago. Last year she was there when they performed in Groningen.
At first I wasn't a fan of Toto. Last month when the new album was released I started to get interested in the band.
Yesterday they hit me; from the top of my heart, to the bottom of my soul!
From the very first moment when Bobby started with Falling In Between I was deeply impressed. They are the very best live artists in the world, that's for sure. The pure powerful voices, the dedication in their performance, they really are musicians! And for as far as I know they are the best of the world. Also nice video in the background while playing Falling In Between, it gave the song even more power! Why not make a video? You don't have to shoot a video personally, just use those images and some live-footage. The Toto fans are getting younger, but so many don't get into touch with Toto because they just don't know. Someone's gotta tell them....
For me it was the first time I saw Toto live. I hope you get back next year!!

WOW! The concert was last night, but I steel feel the vibe! The setting was awesome, the setlist was great, and Toto itself was giving all they had.
After a perfect intro with Falling in Between, they played King of the World, which I didn't expect to hear (with Paich not being there). Luckily, Greg was there, and if someone can take over Paich's part, it's him. Then they went on playing hits like Pamela, Make Believe, Bottom of you Soul, Caught in the Balance, Girl Goodbye, Endless, Gift of Faith, I will Remember, Kingdom of Desire, Hold the Line, Rosanna and much more. They also played an accoustic set, including Stop Loving You (my personal favourite), and Cruel. However, they kept their biggest guns for the last part: no one can wish for a better finish than Home of the Brave and Africa.

Thank you so much guys. I've been looking forward to the concert for months, but it was worth waiting for!

Since I was 12 years old I became addicted to the albums of toto. Now I'm 16 and yesterday I finaly went to a astonishing gig of the band. I have never had such goosebumps as I had yesterday night. The great solos of the band members were absolutely great. As a drummer I also am a great fan of Simon Phillips. And I couldn't believe what he did on his drumset. I hope Toto continues for a very long time, cause from now on I will got to every gig in The Netherlands. In a few words.. This gig was absolutely fantastic!!

It was great! One of the best concerts of Toto I've ever been, and I've seen them all!! (Almost....).

The music was great, the singing was great (Thank you, Bobby!!)

The songs of the new album are really TOTO!!

It was a pity that David Paich wasn't Rotterdam.

To speak with the words of Steve: It was a fucking great party!!!

Thank you guys for this GREAT concert. 2 hours of great songs. I enjoyed it very much. It was good to see you back in Holland.
Tony Spinner was awesome. What a talented guy!
Also Greg Phillinganes did a great job.
Although Bobby Kimball had problems with his throat, his vocals were outstanding. Steve Lukather you were great as always.
And not forget the drummer Simon Phillips. Wow, Awesome, Perfect.
For everyone, thank you so much. Less me to say: David Paich, I hope your back soon and take care.

My thirth Toto concert, and the first since 1999 when I was 14 years old. Now seven years later, it was very pleasant to see you guys perform again. The show started with some new tunes, and I really dig them live. But the turning point of the show was Gift Of Faith, followed by Kingdom Of Desire. From that moment (my personal 'peak of the show'), the evening became very special with some great songs, and till the end it was one long musical orgasm. What can I say 'bout Home Of The Brave, the first time I've heard that song live... wooow!!! I loved it and had a great time. Greg did a really great job, although I miss Dave. I hope to see you playing again in the future. You have a special place in my heart since your gig in Rotterdam seven years ago was my first big concert. It was worth the long lonely trip to Rotterdam! Thank you so much and peace!

One of the best concert of Toto. In the first I was focussed to go later this year, but a friend of mine had two tickets left. It wasn't a difficult decision: Toto here were come. I'm glad I was there. The musical choice was perfect. Starting with Falling in between, the curtain felt and there were my heroes. As Luke said later this evening: we are no rockstars, we are musicians. For me they are more than that.
Pamela felt really good, the medleys were awesome, but I missed the solo of Isolation, I was in higher spheres but no solo??? Luke don't do that to me, but there was Gift of Faith. That was a long time I've heard that song. The opening of Rosanna was a killer. But the best joke was that Luke forgot the lyrics of I won't hold you back: And now I forgot the f*cking lyrics. But we've helped him out, this time. All songs were great. Thank you guys! I'll see next time! For sure.

What can I say? Thank you guys for a marvellous concert. We were (again) very impressed about the powerfull performance. We've seen TOTO before a couple of times but this one was the best till now... which does not mean that the other performances were bad, not at all!!! But it's always fun to hear some new material which is very good stuff indeed. It's a pity that David could not make it (best wishes for your sister!) but Greg did a fantastic job. We really had a great time and now, one day later, the music is still running around in our heads.

Thanks, thanks again and please do come back!!!! We will be there, no doubt about that....

I've actually temporarily lost my hearing. Not from the guys playing either too loud or bad :-) but probably from me singing and screaming. Having just flown in two hours before from a trip to London (where I didn't have one proper night of sleep and I got my wallet stolen) and obviously being exhausted, the guys made me find one last drop of energy to be every bit as enthusiastic as I usually am at a Toto concert.
Having read the concert reviews I knew this one would seriously rock and it did. To hear 'Home of the brave', 'Endless', 'Isolation', 'Kingdom of desire' and 'Caught in the balance' (my personal 'top 5' so to speak) in one concert is absolutely amazing. Someone mentioned earlier being a little disappointed to have 'Isolation' cut off right before Steve's solo and I agree: it's strange to feel yourself automatically preparing for and looking forward to that but it not actually happening. It's like sitting on the passenger seat in the car, the driver signalling and already starting to turn right and suddenly turning left. But that's the only 'complaint' I have. I love the fact that the concert was sold out. I also love the fact that even if a Toto gig is sold out, the atmosphere is always still so relaxed that there's always enough room to walk, sit, dance (yes, I dance during a Toto concert... so sue me), get drinks, etc.
Even though for me Steve's 'the man', Tony and Bobby (and Greg, for that matter) obviously were amazing as well as far as vocals are concerned, especially when singing together: there were more than a few 'goose bumps' moments! Guys.... being able to make me feel moved, rocked, entertained, in awe, inspired and even aroused :-) (yes Scott, you know what I'm talking about) is amazing! So thank you!!

Finaly they where back in Holland.
It was a breathtaking concert. You are live unbeatable. I'v enjoyed the evening. Even with a cold Bobby you had a great voice.
It was a perfect mix with new songs and the golden oldies (my throath still hurts a day later).
David I wish you the best with your sister.
Greg you bring a special beat in the toto songs.
I hope you guys will return soon in Holland.

Thanks guys for the great evening.

It seems like Ahoy is build for Toto.
I've seen them 8 times so far, but the Ahoy concerts are definately my favorites.
Again this was an amazing concert, even I never heard songs like Make believe, Isolation and Endless live.
Didn’t notice a thing of Bobby having a cold, he was excellent as always.
The rest also superb, just ask my English en Scandinavian friends.
I’m jealous of the German and France fans that still have it coming the next couple of days.
And guys, if your planning on doing some kind of "30 years tour", maybe with Joe, Steve, Dave (some percussions, maybe some horns, you know, the works), Just remember that tiny country next to Germany that you consider as your second home.
Hope to see you soon again, and thanxxx

Guys.....I'm speechless....This was really the best live gig I've ever seen in my life!!! You guys blew the whole venue away!!! This show was really breathtaking....

Please Please Please, I think I speak for all of the TOTO fans around the world, BRING THIS CONCERT OUT ON DVD!!!!

Thank you guys, I'm looking forward seeing you next time...

Steve Lukather

It was a really good concert last night!! It sounded so fresh and it looked fresh too with the stage and the lights!
Simon, your groove gets better and better! You were on fire last night!
I always love to see Mike play and I love your parts in the new songs!
Speaking of new songs....the way Steve sang Bottom of your Soul was unbelievable! (better than I won't hold you back;)) It was my favourite song of the night!
Bobby was again very good (after a couple of songs) and made Steve laugh again by screaming his ass off!
Greg is just a perfect addition to the band. I love his contribution and his influence on the toto sound!
Tony also sang his ass off, I didn't hear a single mistake (on those crazy high notes!)
Anyway, I had a great time again and you guys just rock!!

See you next time!

Again a fantastic evening with an outstanding performance.
The guys showed that they really like to play the new songs and the old songs on the setlist.
A sold out Ahoy that was filled with a very mixed audience.
A really great setlist, both for new and old fans.
It all sounded very good, and the acoustic set was really great.
Luke was in a pretty good mood joking around and bobby sounded very good (he had a little cold that had almost no effect on his voice.)
Tony definitely does a great job singin and guitar playing.
Gregg shows he has a lot of fun and his interaction with the audience is fantastic.
Simon and Mike were good as always.
I could make a long story but i can only say, i hope it isn't the last concert in holland this tour.
And for everybody who hasn't got a ticket yet, get on with it, you won't regret it.

Thanks guys for this wonderful evening and we'll see you on the road.

Gentlegods,

Looking at the DVD from your previous concert I thought to myself this is the concert to go to and when I saw that you were coming to my hometown I didn't think twice and bought myself a ticket. Looking at your DVD over and over I was expecting much from you and I was really excited and pumped up when I went to your concert!
Too bad for me you didn't meet my expectations, but lucky for the audience that you exceeded above all of my expectations! We had a great night: the sound was extremely clear and well-tuned and the visuals contemplated the whole show: my compliments to the people behind the band! Of course there ain't no show without the band! Unfortunately David Paige wasn't there, but in life there are sometimes more important things than a concert and I think I speak for everybody that our thoughts go out to him and his sister! However Greg Phillinganes did his utmost best to take his place and excelled on all fronts! Bobby Kimball as usual sang out his lungs and made a festival to the ears: We didn't notice your cold! Tony Spinner will be the next lead guitarplayer and singer of the band: wow, he was great! Mike Porcaro the world greatest bassplayer and if you don't think so he'll come over to mess you up! Simon Phillips is the meanest drumplayer of all time, yaahooo! Last but not least, Steve Lukather, the god among guitarplayers, you're the best! I think we have to put Toto in the dictionary next to Divinity with a capital D! You are rockgods! I didn't love the show, I adored it: the best thing in my life! People know that you love music and we can see it on stage: That's why so many young people come to see you, just like me!
The only thing that was a bummer was that the audience kept for most of the time on their seats! I hope you can forgive us! But we tried to make it up with Home of the Brave and Africa!

With the biggest smile on my face and typing with one hand while my other hand keeps the thumb up, I sign as a humble fan who came in close proximity of divineness.

The Kings Of The World!

First of all I am so sorry for my pals far overseas who barely get the chance to see The Kings live, as in Holland we have the privilege of seeing them live very often! And I can understand why because Ahoy was packed with enthusiastic fans, including me.
It is true what is said in a lot of reviews, The Kings Of The World kick ass big time (but haven't they always?)! The new songs are brilliant and sound great live. Thumbs up for Greg, he is a welcome addition to the family with a beautiful, powerful voice and a funny guy.
I will give you the highlights of the evening for me. The ever brilliant Luke (do we ever get naked pictures of you on the net babe? ha ha) who sang I Won’t Hold You Back for all the beautiful Dutch women” and halfway through the song he forgot the lyrics (maybe it is the same with all the names of the beautiful Dutch women you met, Luke? ha ha). Damn that man rocks, most noticeable with a long guitar version of Kingdom Of Desire which was incredible and left me gasping for air.
You gotta love the acoustic set in the middle of the show which really shows of their talents and I loved Bobby singing the Isolation songs. I indeed always wondered what he would have sounded like on that album and now I know ! Overall fantastic setlist, really made for the fans I would say as it almost covered all albums.
What also was great to see, was the diversity in the audience: 20/30/40/50-somethings and youngsters. Gotta love the youngsters, because not only is it a great thing that they are introduced to such good music, it is also a good thing for my view (because my tiny ass is usually surrounded by big ass boys)!
I have had an awesome time, as well as my best friend and there is only one comment from our side: Please guys, extend your shirt line with shirts for the ladies as well !!
Thanks thanks thanks, I will keep spreading the Toto love all over the world!

Once again.....F & g AWESOME!
From the first tone do the last gong bass explosion by Simon... just fantastic!
You know the expression a child has when he first sees something and just stares at it in awe with his mouth half open... that was me during the whole show...I digged all the new stuff, I told my girl, there is only one band in the world who playes this shit live on stage and gets away with it!... Qoute Luke: 'Hey man this shit is live, if you want Britney you're in the wrong place!....I can't remember the f&^ ng lyrics to the song jadajada....
Hylarious stuff....

In short, never stop playing and we'll never stop coming out! Stuff of legends man!...haleluya!

Greetings and love from Amsterdam, Nicholas and Marianne!

Once again Toto astonished me with an amazing performance. The variety of the setlist was impressive: live-favourites like Home of the brave, Girl goodbye, Hold the line, Africa and I won't hold you back; an inspired new version of Rosanna and an intimate acoustic medley. Bobby had caught a cold, but his performance was incredible nonetheless: the high screams at the end of Girl goodbye even surprised Mike and Luke. Tony Spinner did an awesome job as well: out-of-this-world backing vocals and guitars on Make believe (my favourite, along with the acoustic medley, Girl goodbye and Falling in between). Also great to hear some Mindfields stuff: Caught in the balance and an acoustic version of Cruel during the medley. This was simply one of the best Toto-concerts I have been to...

See you next time!

Great concert in Rotterdam.
Breath-taking numbers of the new album "falling in Between" mixed with all time favorites. Steve told the crowd to have the feeling to be "back home" in Holland.

It was a fantastic concert what I saw last evening! Really enjoyable to hear, to see and to feel. You guys are amazingly great, sounds superb! I really want more......so come back soon! I really can't get enough.... ;)

All day long I was excited. Tonight I would go to one of best bands. It was very perculiar that I had to be in the Ahoy in the morning for my work. So I walked along a big sign with the name of Toto on it. All my collegues knew I was going.

Finally it was time. My "date" for tonight arrived: my father. We have a special agreement witch means that if Toto comes to Holland, we'll go together. It's really "our" thing and I love it. When he arrived it was just around five o'clock. We still had two and a half hour before we had to leave. (Why do minutes pass by so slowly when you're excited?! Really enoying!!!!) After dinner it was finaly time to go. Lucky for me I practicly live next to the Ahoy. We were there on time. To my suprise the Ahoy was packed!!! I was so happy. These guys deserve this kind of respect. The tension was growing and minute after minute passed by. I think it was around half past nine that they started playing.

What a wonderfull show. Everything was right. The songs they played, the decoration, the ambiance. Everything seemed to fit perfectly.

When I got home I was so estatic that I had to write about the concert and let everybody know that I really love this band for it's devotion to the music.

Steve once said; thank god where not that famous that people only look at the outside. People only listen to our music.

Today they were for my the ultimate popstars you can have. Very talented people who like to play and who give the audiance a great sensation.
