Comment: Jeff...Is by far one of the best drummers their ever was. He had such a unique style, and had an amazing rythme and beat...As a fellow drummer, i am proud to say that he is an inspiration, and a legend in the music of Rock & Roll...And he will never be forgotten as long as their is music in the world!

As I listen to him play, I am amazed of his tallent. With such amazing work, such as...''Rosana'', ''Mushanga'' and ''Jake To The Bone''...Who can blame him for being such an amazing drummer, possibly the best their is!

Comment: I became a rhythm maniac when I first heard of HIM... I never knew on those days who the drum player was... but when I got to known it surprised me how one sinlge player could do that wide kind of grooves.... my respect for Jeff grew up 'till the point that I needed to have every single recoprding where he played... until that overwhelming day.. I was playing in Villahermosa Tabasco, Mexico. and somebody in the audience asked the band fot some Toto's song in memory of Jeff who just past away that morning. I just couldn't believe it. we played "Hold the line" and the bar we played on use to close their night with the past to present VHS... and by the time "Can you hear what I'm saying" came to the tv sets... that sensation of missing something grew up into some kind of pain... I would never be able to hear him live... to buy any new cd with his playing... and for me specially that night was unbelievable he was gone when I was seeing him playing on tv... but it was just a VHS...
since that day I compromised myself to become a better musician daily, trying to give the audience the best and biggest part of me every single night... so when they would come to ask why I played that way, I was going and still do say that was because of my influences TOTO... their musicianship, their commitment to quality and sound, and the feeling as well... I finally met them in Veracruz in the 2004 Mexico's final performing... I shaked My Master's Hand (Steve Lukather as I'm a guitar player), and then at the end... some very special moment for me... the precious one... I shaked Mike Porcaro's Hand... on the Dinasty's Brother... and I cried the rest of the night for my lost... right now I shed some tears... and always will when it comes to remember that even without notice of my existence... the made me the musician I am now... GOD... TAKE CARE OF HIS SOUL... MAKE HIM REST IN YOUR LAP... BLESS ALL OF HIS FRIENDS AND BANDMATES... THANK YOU FOR THEIR LIVES AND MUSIC... I'LL NEVER FORGET THEM OR LET THE WORLD TO FORGET THEM... IT KEEPS FOREVER ON THE WINGS OF TIME....

Comment: Even after 14 years I still can't believe he's gone. Even though I never met him, he was a great inspiration to musicians like myself. When he did the drumming on a recording, you knew it was going to be something special. His phenomenal performance on "I Want You" by the Brothers Johnson always has me jumping up and down and I'm not even a drummer! Jeff may have passed but the music is here forever for us to enjoy.

Comment: It's Andy again. I dropped by to see how many fans still remember this day. It is the 5th of august, the day the real and heartfelt groove almost died. Almost, because Jeff's memory will always be alive. I'm glad to be part of this process which we could call "keeping the groove, the soul of music, the soul of Jeff alive"! Lots of love,

Comment: I have fond memories of running into both Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather a LOT while I was attending Musician's Institute out in Hollwood, CA. Whether it was at the school itself, on the boulevard, or performing at a nearby club (I have great memories of Jeff playing with Larry Carlton), I was a HUGE Toto fan (still am! and Turn Back has always been my fave! But I love the new album! And Live album!). I just tried to 'paste' a pic of me and Jeff that a buddy of his took of us right on Hollywood Boulevard right outside of MI in 1985. Jeff was SOOO nice and SOOO funny and I remember as if it were yesterday! I was 19 years old and a little star struck! I said 'Hey, Jeff Porcaro!" he smiled and even stopped to talk to me! I said I was a HUGE fan and I just happened to have my camera and could I take a picture? He said "Sure! Hey, this is Hollywood, right?" and he laughed. Not only did he let me take a picture but he asked his buddy to take a picture of us both. He was just about to have a smoke and you can see his unlit cig in his hand. Unfortunately, I couldn't paste it here. But if you log onto my website- and click on photos, you will see the picture I am talking about! It's a classic! Since Jeff's death, I have always been meaning to share this photo with Toto (esp. Jeff's brothers Steve and Mike) and the fans! I finally have! Thanks! I just wanted to relay what a warm guy Jeff was to me, a fan, that day and how happy he made me that day! It really is the little things...
