Jeff Porcaro représente pour moi le "guitar hero" dans l'univers de la batterie, une légende, une vie musicale extraordinaire. Son absence est lourde mais je me console en l'imaginant jammer avec Jaco, Miles, Coltrane, Jose Zawinul, johnny Cash, Ray Charles, James Brown, Bernard Edwards et plein d'autres. |

After 18 years? I´m still wonder why he left us so soon!
But all these years i can´t stop thinking on his kids,how they managed,the lost and growing up without a father.
I also know, they have her mother Suzane; and uncles Mike and Steve P.aunt Joleen,and above all Grand Pá Joe
Porcaro.

I still remember the day I learned about Jeff's passing. I was 16 and a Toto fan for two years. Although I didn't know yet what a big influence he was on the entire music business and on all the real musicians, I felt that something was going to change. And it did! Since that day, I collect everything I can that contains his drumming. And I listen to music comparing everything to his style. It's a useless thing, I know that. But I still can't help it.
I wrote this a few times, but I feel I have to do it again: I never met him and I never saw him live, but I feel like one of his closest friends. Sometimes I feel he watches over me. Even my little boy (who is 7 now...) starts to listen to his music and to know about Jeff.
18 years. Incredible. I hope he is alright whre he is and that he does some very good gigs with the other great who passed away, some of them much too soon!
God bless your soul, Jeff!
