RURAL STILL LIFE
When Toto was still in highschool (Grant High),
David Paich and Jeff Porcaro started a band by the name of 'Rural
still life'. The band later reincarnated in 1972 as 'Still life' when
future Toto members Steve Porcaro and Steve Lukather stepped in.
'Still life' als enlisted now wellknown musicans as Mike Landau,
Carlos Vega, David Hungate and John Pierce. The band played music
they liked to listen to, like => Steely Dan's 'Katy Lied'album (featuring... Jeff Porcaro!) or The
Edgar Winter Group.
Still Life auditioned to play at local clubs, but as the band was all under the age of 18, they were not allowed to play. They did
play high school proms, and Steve Lukather has a very rare recording of their gig at the Beverly Hills High School in 1974.
