When Bobby Kimball and Toto parted ways after "Toto IV", the band went looking for another singer. Steve Lukather on this selection in a 1992 interview: "Jeff was really impressed with this guy Fergie [Frederiksen]," states Lukather. "I was into this guy called Eric Martin (former Mr. Big), but Jeff could be very persuasive."
