GRAMMY'S

The Grammy Awards are the Oscars for the music industry. To date, Toto has received 7 Grammy's: in 1977 they were nominated for Best New Artist and they struck gold in 1982 with 6 Grammy's. 'Toto IV' was named Album of the Year and Best Engineerd Recording, 'Rosanna' won for Record of the Year and Best Vocal Arrangement. Toto themselves were voted Producers of the Year. David Paich, Jeff Porcaro and Jerry Hey won for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocals for 'Rosanna'. Steve Lukather shared honors for Best Rhythm & Blues Song with => Jay Graydon and Bill Champlin for 'Turn Your Love around' (a hit for => George Benson).

Toto also got award certificates at the 1983 Grammy Awards for performing behind Michael Jackson on 'Beat it' (then Record of the Year). Steve Porcaro was recognized for his arranging and vocal work on 'Thriller', voted Album of the year. => Elliot Scheiner (producer of Toto's "TAMBU") was nominated for the 1996 Grammy Awards in the category "Best Engineered Album". Sheiner was also nominated in the same category for Mindfields in 1998.

Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton won a Grammy for No Substitutions in 2001 for "Best Pop/Instrumental Album."
