Over the years, the members of Toto have played for or co-wrote many of Don Henley’s tunes. David Paich co-wrote “New York Minute” and also did some writing on “Taking You Home.” Paich plays piano and arranged the strings on “New York Minute” as well.

Jeff Porcaro played drums on many of Henley’s biggest hits, including “Dirty Laundry.” In addition, Steve Lukather recorded the second guitar solo from this song. (The first solo was recorded by Joe Walsh.)

“Boys of Summer,” arguably Henley’s most famous tune, is most recognizable from the iconic string track that accompanies the entire song. This was played by none other than Steve Porcaro.
