Eddie Van Halen has been friends with Steve Lukather for many years. Both have played on each other’s records. Eddie played bass-guitar on Steve’s first solo album "Lukather" (1989), and Steve sang backing vocals on "Not Enough" (Balance) and "Top of the World" (For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge).

Eddie appeared on-stage with Toto in 1992 at the => Tribute to Jeff Porcaro concert, where he and Luke did a “guitar chase.” Eddie performed “Ain”t Talkin” About Love” and played on “Hold the Line.”
